Founded by Dr. William Henry Sparling East, who served Fernie families for over 46 years, the Sparling East Medical Centre continues his legacy of compassionate, community-based care. Dr. East’s dedication to service — from his wartime years in the RC Army Medical Corps to his leadership in Fernie’s medical and civic life — set the standard we follow today.
Our team of family physicians and healthcare professionals provides patient-centred, attentive care for all ages, rooted in respect, connection, and the mountain community we proudly call home.
The Sparling East Medical Centre provides care by appointment for our existing patients. While we’re not a walk-in clinic, we do our best to accommodate same-day visits when our schedule allows.
